Concept Layout
Keeping in with the derelict, moody feel of the previous City Scene, I have tried to keep the composition of this painting simple as possible without it feeling too empty. I am pleased with the textured feel to this piece, especially the rock surfaces on the mountains, however the one feature I am satisfied about the most is the stream in the centre of the composition.
To achieve the detailed texture I simply used a textured brush in Adobe Photoshop, altered it's settings and changed the opacity. It was important to keep the brush size small, so that I could include each individual rock within the stream and the texture of the water. I was very pleased with the outcome, and feel of the piece however there are some things which need improving such as: the geology of the mountain shapes could be adjusted and the castle could be redesigned. I hope the depth and gritty feel of this piece isn't lost when it's put into After Effects, and doesn't appear too "muddy."
Like the previous post, I have uploaded more than one of this image, to compare which colour tone would be better suited to my film. I believe the top one would be the most effective, as it displays an array of dark greens and browns, melding into the moorland and the moody sky, whereas the bottom has too many shades of green which is a colour scheme that would be better suited to my underwater scenes.

Here is the final submission of my animatic. The first part of the animatic gives an insight into the colour-scheme and atmosphere of the piece. The second and third part are drawn out, with block-colour background to represent the colour tones/hues I will be using. For example: the burnt forest; I shall use a selection of beiges to enhance the devastation caused by a mystery fire. The whole aim of my movie to explore different environments and the mood you feel from them; my movie focuses on the aftermath of disaster, hence the title. Each environment will be a lot more detailed than what is shown in the Animatic. The sole purpose of the animatic is to give an idea of perspective and the structure of the story.
